Two great videos from The National.

Chantal Goya is beautiful. I want to have a "I wish I was her/I wish I was French" night and watch all her films. Might as well add Anna Karina to the night too.

I did not expect this video for this song!

pack a picnic

Royal and I have a goal this year to go on a picnic every week. We have gone twice now, and it has been so much fun. It's a great way for us to go through our fridge and use up all our food and become creative. I have used mason jars for our containers, so I was excited to see a post about a meal in a jar!

Another use for mason jars is iced tea. Every morning I make a batch for the day. My favorite is trader joes mango black tea, or mixing mint tea with black tea. I found a perfect way to do it and it's quick and easy:
Boil water and pour two cups over 4 tea bags of your tea of choice.
Let steep for 4 minutes, and take out tea bags.
Add 2 tablespoons of honey to hot tea.
Once honey is dissolved, add 2 more cups of cold water.
Put in a large mason jar and chill.

This illy cafe is made from a shipping container.
Push the button and it unfolds like a flower in 90 seconds.

I love everything about this.
I want to wear that exact scarf on my head, and find something I can put that exact silk square into.

taking it to the next level...

I signed up for the Photoshop workshop, and I am so excited! I've been hoping to take my blog to the next level and Bri from design love fest seems like a wealth of knowledge on the subject. Checkout her blogshop, I would definitely attend that if I lived in the LA area.

sail

Learning to sail is on my list of things to do.
I have been on many sailboats in my life, and there is nothing like it.
One of my favorite books is Maiden Voyage, a true story about a young girl who sails solo around the world. It makes you want to drop everything important in your life and take off on a trip.

Design Palette

My eye has been drawn to simple and natural interiors lately.
I'm really into these two homes, here and here on designsponge.

I found a camel back couch like this the other day on cl. It sold before I was able to get to it, after this photo, I'm on the lookout again. And of course the Eames lounger, and butterfly chair which I grew up loving at my grandparents. They have it all!

Love all the white in this sunroom. I'm lusting over that metal bench rocker. I can't get over those cushions...

This is something I've always wanted, a little table that Royal and I can sit at in the wee hours of the day, drinking our coffee.
I didn't notice at first but they have the bodum double walled glass that we love.

The wedding

I'm more romantic than I thought.
I found myself slightly obsessed with this wedding.
When I read Happenstance's 10 things about the royal wedding, it made it that much better.
I love that they converted the Aston Martin to run on 100% bioethanol fuel from British wine.

Bright Star Comparisons

There's no need to express my love for Bright Star the movie.
I already did that
There is need to express my love for miss moss color comparisons. They are lovely and dreamy!

cowboy country

Got home today from visiting family in Eastern Washington. It was a good trip- memorial service, calf branding, shuffle board and ping pong games, vintage farm wares, and good times with family.

I had a ticket to Fleet Foxes tonight in Portland, but had to give it up because I have so much catch up to do on homework since I took the weekend off.
I'm happy Royal gets to go.
For now, I must be satisfied with watching videos.
